Making the most of your holiday in Canada

Canada is home to Grizzly Bears, Mountain Scenery and Forests as far as the eye can see, but there is so much more to this wonderful Country. If you’re planning a trip to Canada, here are some tips on how to make the most of your stay:

Before you go
The night before your flight, stay in a good airport hotel. Holiday Inn has airport hotels and also offers long stay parking and shuttle transfers to and from the airports. Canadian time difference can be as much as 8 hours depending on your destination, so a good night’s sleep and a relaxed departure is a necessity.
Be realistic about the distances involved

While Edmonton, Alberta and Jasper, BC may look close on a map, they’re actually a good 2 days driving apart. Be realistic about how many miles you can cover if you’re planning on travelling around.
Don’t forget the tax
State sales tax is not included on the price tags in Canada, so if you’re expecting an item to cost $19.99 you may be surprised when you get to the till and find out that you still owe a few cents more than your $20 bill. Sales tax ranges from state to state, but it’s lower than the UK – sometimes around 7%.
Take the Rocky Mountaineer

Consider a trip travelling by train instead of hiring a car on the Rocky Mountaineer railway line. This railway passes through some beautiful scenery and is world renowned for its service. While it doesn’t come cheap, compared to the cost of car hire there’s not a lot in it, and you’ll get to see a lot more when you’re concentrating on the view rather than the road.
Do your research
Before you travel, do your research regarding which part(s) of Canada you want to see. It’s such a big country that you’re unlikely to be able to cover a huge area in a single trip – so decide what it is you’re looking for. If you want to see as much as possible, consider hiring a motorhome. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a beach vacation, consider a smaller town with a lake made for swimming such as Shuswap Lake in British Columbia or Tofino on Vancouver Island.
Canada is a fabulous country with a lot to offer visitors – so make the most of your holiday and plan beforehand.

Seven Reasons to Holiday in Kavos

Corfu's main party resort, Kavos, was once just a small fishing village, but has since become one of the hottest clubbing destinations in the world. Although the nightlife is the main attraction, just about anyone looking for a summer holiday that’s packed with fun should definitely consider a week in sunny Corfu.

If you're not convinced that a trip to Corfu is what you need this summer, here are seven excellent reasons to consider a holiday in Kavos.

 Beaches
Kavos may be famous for boozy nights, but during the day you will be able to take in the scenery. The area has a natural beauty that will take your breath away; from golden sandy beaches to the crystal blue waters, this Greek island is absolutely stunning.

 Cuisine
Whether you’re looking for traditional Greek cuisine or something closer to home, you’ll be able to find it in Kavos. There are hundreds of bars and restaurants serving up a vast array of cuisines, from Mexican to Thai and everything in between.

Nightlife
Kavos is the Greek party hotspot. It is one of the biggest clubbing destinations in Europe, so if you’re up for partying all night and sleeping all day, this resort is definitely for you. There is a wild atmosphere at night, with the big clubs, such as Future-Atlantis, Limelight and Venue opening in the wee small hours.

 Shopping
The shopping in Kavos is fairly limited as most of the shops are targeted at tourists, so you’ll find plenty of souvenir and clothing shops. However, if you do visit Corfu Town, just a 30-minute bus journey away, there are plenty of places for shopaholics to get their next fix.

 Weather
One of the biggest reasons that Kavos holidays are so popular with British holidaymakers is the weather. During the summer seasons, this Greek resort boasts 12-13 hours of sunshine per day, with temperatures averaging around 25°C.

 Watersports
The main draw to the five miles of beach is the water sports. Whether you’re a professional water skier or just fancy having a go at something for the thrill, you’ll have plenty of fun on the water.

 Culture
Why not take a break from the relentless partying to enjoy a little culture? Kavos isn’t all about the crazy nightlife; the area also has a rich heritage to be explored. Whether you fancy taking a trip over to the island of Paxos to take in the scenery or would prefer to visit Corfu Town, which is home to a number of archaeological sites, the choice is yours.

St. Augustine Beach Pier

In our vacation we visited the St. Augustine beach pier for a day and little travelentz was excited to play and make castle. We didn't swim and the waves so strong  and scared me.Hubby enjoyed the sun and sunbathing while mother-in-law was content playing with her granddaughter. If you can guess what I did, maybe you know already.

You can see some people are  on the pier for fishing and surfers catching some waves.

About St. Augustine Beach Pier:
  • some fee if you go fishing.
  • restroom onsite.
  • free parking.
  •  Located at St. Johns County Ocean Pier.
  • check before you go sometime the beach is closed.
We stayed  for couple hours  in the beach and grab some lunch on the way to our hotel. So here some photos at St. Augustine Beach pier.
“When you do dance, I wish you a wave o' the sea, that you might ever do nothing but that”
~ William Shakespeare~
“The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have            wings.”
~J.M. Barrie, The Little White Bird~

At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.

What Not to Miss When you Visit Budapest

Budapest is a fascinating city, with several distinct districts to explore and enjoy, ensuring that you experience everything the city has to offer. This huge city is the capital of Hungary, and has a vibrant atmosphere making it appealing for the younger generations. However, there is also a huge array of sights, and historical buildings to explore.

Over two million visitors explore Budapest and once you have been to the city you will understand why people return year after year. There are 23 different districts to explore, which may seem overwhelming, but, these are divided into equal parts of Buda and Pest. Buda is considered the smaller of the areas, and has many fascinating things to see.

Pest is located to the east and has a livelier city atmosphere, which attracts the younger generations, but is as exciting to explore. Many of the districts throughout the city are amazing to visit, and offer a vast historical core. The central districts are the most popular with the tourists, however, if you can explore further afield, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Regardless of your budget, you will enjoy Budapest, and the quality of life is considered to be incredibly high. With fantastic cuisine, excellent culture, and a fascinating vibe, you will soon understand why people love this city. Prices are far lower than other European cities, but this is due to the wages also being far lower. One of the best places to stay would be the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, wherein they offer a wide array of packages and deals that will suit each traveler's accommodation needs.

Getting about in the city is straightforward, and once you find your bearings, you can easily navigate throughout the streets. The River Danube splits the city, and this can be the perfect landmark for you to navigate. The layout of the roads and districts are logical, and there are many fantastic landmarks to look out for when exploring.
There are several bridges that you can use to cross back and forth over the river, and once you begin to explore you will see how straightforward it is for everyone. Exploring on foot is the best way, but you can also take advantage of the public transport on offer. Cycling is an option, but there are no cycle lanes, which makes it a little dangerous.

Many of the best things to see are located on the Buda side of the city, and are concentrated on Castle Hill. The Royal Place is considered to be one of the most popular attractions in the city, and has many years of fascinating history. The palace has been destroyed and rebuilt over six times, and today some of the building is used as a museum.

The Fishermans Bastion overlooks the Danube, and is an amazing place to sightsee, and explore the local area. Built in 1905 this amazing building has seven towers which symbolize the seven clan leaders of Magyar. Alongside this tower you may also want to venture into the Matthias Church, which offers unique glass walls.

Regardless of why you decided to visit Budapest, there is plenty to see and do, ensuring that you will never tire of the city. You can explore the different historical buildings all day, and party all night with the locals. There are numerous restaurants, bars and cafes to relax within, enjoying the local hospitality, and excellent atmosphere.

Choosing the Right RCA Cable?

Choosing the right rca cable  is important when you buy. Remember there are different type of this products. It all depends and where do you used it. Like my husband he just bought one recently for our subwoofer and we needed a new one.

Good thing he's knows that there is a problem in our subwoofer connection  and the audio was terrible  so he bought a new Rca cable. This kind of cable  tend to be color-coded to help correspond to the right input or maybe output port on electronic digital products. That's why every time there is a package comes he tells me what was about and explain it to me.

We brought some fish, vegetables and fruits  to feed the animals. Here the monkey who doesn't want to share to everyone! It's my apple-MINE.
This is mine

Island Hopping in Boracay, Philippines

During our vacation in Philippines, we did the island hopping in Boracay, Philippines with my sister. It was one of the best vacation we ever have as a family. Though my little one was too young for some activities we take turns to babysit  Little travelentz in the "banka" especially in snorkeling. Good thing my sister and her husband agreed with it.

We rented the boat by ourselves so we have our privacy and enjoyed it for a day trip. Our first stop was the Crystal Cove. My sister and her husband decided to babysit Little travelentz and not interested to go to the cave since they've visited it.

CRYSTAL COVE:

This is taken inside the cave and located in cave 1. The best part the tour guide was really good and the place was interesting. He told us we just lucky the place wasn't crowded that day.

Snorkeling in Boracay:
I love to snorkel in Boracay, and you can buy  fresh coconut when you get thirsty. This was the most popular place  to snorkel.
After the snorkel the tour guide showed us some part of the islands and resorts in Boracay. Time flies so fast and we had a great time but our tummy needs food so we decided to have lunch with my sister while our husband's enjoyed their pizza's.

Cruise Control: Family Luxury aboard Ships

Cruises are an often misunderstood holiday for those who have yet to take the plunge and step on board. It may come as a shock to many, then, that a cruise vacation is swiftly becoming a family’s preferred choice of relaxation and exuberance.  The days of cruises being a retirement excursion are gone and the modern day cruise ship is a place of variety, excitement and family fun.
Variety
On board a cruise liner you will find luxury and relaxation coupled with plenty of ways to keep the smaller members of the family entertained. Kid-friendly cruises come with children’s clubs, where your offspring can search the decks on an exhilarating treasure hunt, or dive for gold in the ship’s swimming pool.  Many cruises have wild water slides on board, which are guaranteed to evoke screams of pleasure from the kids, whilst the parents catch a few rays by the side of the pool.
As the sun dips into the sea at evening time, the fun doesn’t stop; a whole host of entertainment is on show for both child and grown-up, leaving the whole family feeling stimulated and involved.
Luxury is found in the cabins, in the food and in the top notch service. When you take the family on a cruise ship, you allow them to experience pure extravagance, with plenty of merriment.

Cruise options:
A fantastic first-time cruise to try with the kids is the Carnival Legend, from Co-operative Travel Cruises, which drifts around the Mediterrean, catching the rays from May to October.  You will get to experience the sights of Venice, where the kids can be entertained with a Venetian ghost hunt. Adults can woo their other halves on a gondola ride, or experience some of Italy’s finest pizza together.

Barcelona is a stopping point on the trip; this beautiful city is dripping in culture but still has with plenty of activities to entertain the children. Try taking them to the zoo or the aquarium, or let them gaze upon the twisted spires of the unfinished Gaudi Cathedral, whilst you educate them on what they’re seeing. Barcelona is a city that is a playground for children, so their involvement is encouraged.
Co-operative family cruises offer a range of options for families looking to experience a different type of holiday. Working with P&O and Carnival, they can offer a package that will delight and entertain both young and old. A full range of cruises can be found on the Co-operative’s website where you are sure to find one to suit every family.

Celebrating the 4th of July at the Cottage

We usually celebrate the 4th of July at the Cottage, Michigan. But this year it will be different since the shut down of hubby's  work not fall unto that week. Our travel plan was cancelled because of my daughter's activities were I registered for VBS this year. This would be her first time to join and I want her to mingle with other kids in our church and given some priority this kind of event. The vacation could wait and we will have another chance perhaps before the first day of the school year.

I know my parents-in-law feel bad about the situation but we have no choice and we don't want to drive 18 hours to the North.Thankfully, after a few weeks they understand us and hoping to come down before my daughter's birthday.

Fun for all ages:
This year, they will celebrating the 4th of July at the cottage with their friend without us. There are a lot things to do  and our family friends will sleep over in the cottage since we have 3 bedrooms. Aside from that, there are some activities for all ages, like auto show, ice cream day and auction. The best thing staying in the cottage is the lake and the river where the cottage is located. Yes, the back porch  has a river view were you can see all the  canoers.

Lake:
If you get bored in the cottage, you can go in  lake and had beach too. Its all fun there. We don't need to take our car since my parents-in-law bought a golf cart when they know I'm pregnant so its easy for me to get around and they're excited to stroll their granddaughter  without having problem.

Fireworks:
On that day they have fireworks and hubby buy some too.We ended up having a marshmallow barbecue and the guys made some bonfire when it is dark they lit the fireworks. Its great to celebrate the Independence day of United States with amazing people.

First Day of Summer: Bike trip with the family

Today is the first day of summer and were thinking a bike trip with the family every weekend. Though we have to get up early to do this kind of activity and avoid the heat as possible. We done some bike trip lately in  parks that has a a bike trail. Even I want to bike everyday in neighborhood is kinda hard for me because I have to put my bike at the kuat bike rack so I need to wait my husband to do it.

Bike rack:
Considering I live in the city the only option I have is to find a bike trail in the neighborhood and it requires a bike rack to transport our bikes.

How was it:
I enjoy spending time with my family. Though I'm not as fast as hubby to ride a bike at the end of the trail  he has to wait me to make sure we were the same trail. At first it was a pain but when I used to it I have fun and its good for a our health. My daughter enjoyed her ride with her daddy.

Fall bike trip:
Last fall we have some day trip in the neighborhood parks and we bring our bike since hubby loves to do this kind of activity. The park was beautiful and has a lake at the same time.

Ripley's Ghost Train Adventure in St. Augustine,Florida

In our first day in St. Augustine, hubby saw some fliers about Ghost tour so he decided to book the tour on that night. There are  some choices or route you can pick, but we chose the train ghost tour included the Ripley's Believe it or not in the itinerary.

Investigate the paranormal activities:
They will give an EMF ghost meter for everyone and laser pen for each family member. It was fun and not creepy at all.Its a kid's friendly they bring us at the 3 places.

First stop of Ripley's Ghost Train Adventure:
We enjoyed the first stop. They decided to divide the tour  since the train was almost full into two so everyone would have a chance to investigate and enjoy the place. The story was interesting and my family enjoyed investigating the paranormal. Did we see a ghost? Just find out when you're there.

Second Stop: Cemetery
We didn't enjoyed this stop and its kinda boring and we didn't understand what was the story and how it become a paranormal. Actually it was distracting and  we just standing  outside the cemetery were its along the road and you can hear some people who are out there.

Third Stop: Ripley's Believe it or not:
This is my family's  favorite stop, the story was interesting and creepy. Don't forget to stay with your friend's or family perhaps the ghost  is in your side.hehehe.Make sure to hold your husband's hand and not the ghost.

Iceland by Jeep: Tips for Traversing the Island in a 4x4

Iceland is a Nordic country of great natural beauty, and one of the very best ways to discover the country is by Jeep. Driving through the rugged and breathtaking landscape of Iceland allows tourists to see the landscape at their leisure. However, the roads are not always paved, and driving through the highlands isn't always easy. In order to remain safe while on the Icelandic roads in a Jeep, keep the following tips in mind.

Make Sure You're Prepared Before You Start Your Drive:

It should be obvious that, as a tourist in a new country, you should be adequately prepared before driving off to a remote location. It is imperative that you let someone know where you are going; if someone knows where you are headed and when you expect to return, you will be in safe hands should an accident occur. This also means that you should draw up a travel plan and not simply drive impulsively. To help your planning, ask locals about the state of the roads in different areas of the island. Someone staying in the same campground as you or the owner of your hotel will be able to provide you with reliable information on which roads are the safest. You can supplement this by checking the road conditions before starting your rover journey and be checking the weather conditions. It is also recommended that tourists travel in groups, which is why Iceland Jeep tours are a good idea. As a tourist who's in an unfamiliar country, you will want others around to help you should an accident occur.

Things To Remember When Driving Iceland Rovers:
In addition to being prepared, it is also important to remember to drive Iceland rovers safely. While the main roads in the cities will be paved, keep in mind that the roads outside of the cities are often narrow and full of potholes. It is important to drive slowly on unfamiliar roads - especially on roads that aren't paved - in order to prevent accidents. Additionally, Iceland is famous for its hairpin turns, blind hilltops, and one-lane road bridges. These roads might be unlike roads you're used to driving on.

Jeep Tours and Rentals In Iceland

It might be a good idea to consider Iceland Jeep tours instead of driving on your own. Iceland Jeep tours, especially those offered by the company Iceland Rovers, are a very popular way of seeing the landscape, not only because a skilled local will be driving but also because a trained tour guide will be able to provide you with additional information along the way. This company's Jeep tours last anywhere from 4 hours to several days, depending on what kind of adventure you're hoping to have. Seeing the natural landscape from a Land Rover or Nissan Patrol is an incredible way to experience Iceland. While it is possible to rent Jeeps or rovers and drive yourself, tours are another great option. For those hoping to brave the landscape solo, make sure you're fully prepared and keep these safe driving tips in mind.

Romantic Voyages for Senior Couples

When it comes to romantic options, you will find that there is nothing quite like taking a trip together. Whether you head half-way around the world or you are simply absconding to a bed and breakfast for a weekend, you'll find that a trip can work wonders for you and your significant other, maybe even rekindle a withering flame. However, do you worry a little bit about being one of those old couples that fight like cats and dogs when they are on the road? Skip the strife and consider these tips for keeping your trip sweet!

Day Apart:

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and you will find that this is also true when you are on a trip together. Split up for the day or for half a day. Use the time to be yourself and to really do what you want to do. Before you know it, you will start wondering what your significant other is up to and what they are doing. Think about buying each other little surprises while you are out and about. Arrange to meet back at the hotel or at a restaurant where you can compare notes over a happy reunion.
Choose Cooperatively-When you want to take a visit together, you both must agree on the places that you visit. Some couples that have been together for a while simply take turns, but there is nothing too interesting about a vacation where half of the couple is bored to tears! When you are looking at where you want to go and what you want to do, the experience should have a great deal of appeal for both parties. Choose something that you can enjoy together and let this guide your travels.

Take the Stress Out-Traveling can be quite stressful when you take things like airports and train stations into account, but you will find that stress is something that you can leave at the door once you check in. Remember that one of the goals for your trip is to simply enjoy each other's company. If you are hanging out together, the day is already a success. Do not over plan things. Having a strict schedule will distract you from enjoying each other's company so simply take things easy and relax. No matter where you are going, there is no stress like having to worry about medical bills or last minute trip cancellations. Save yourself some trouble and purchase travel insurance before your voyage.

Shopping Surprise
If you are seeing a place which has a great shopping space, why not try shopping for each other? Create a budget and head off to find each other something that will surprise or delight. For example, if you do this at a farmer's market, you can come back with snacks that the other person adores. If you do this at a flea market or an open-air market, you might come back with a one of a kind gift that is full of memories.

Take a Ride
No matter where you are, chances are good that there is a type of public conveyance that you can try for the first time. If you have never thought about the charm of a gondola, a river raft, a carriage, a train or a rickshaw before, now is the time to try it.
